I'm so glad you are here! I hope during your visit you get a glimpse of God's heart for we become what we are gazing at. I pray that God refreshes you and gives you readiness to persevere in what He has for you today. My desire is to be a blessing to you in helping you know God more and make Him known so I've made theses Resources and tools available to you and write a Weekday Devotional to provide insights from God's Word. There is talk that the world will end one year from today, December 21st, 2012. (So I decided to re-post this.) But this would make for a great topic to bring up spiritual conversation with people in your life. You can start by asking simple questions like, "So do you think the world is going to end next December?" and follow up with the question, "Well, if it did, do you think you would go to heaven?" Then that will lead you into the gospel. I bet it will be a great conversation, have fun! (For other evangelism ideas visit Eternity Impact.) So, will the world end on Decemeber 21st of 2012? Is Nostradamus and the Mayan calendar right? No. Though it will be soon. How do I know? Because there are a lot things that are suppose to happen before then that haven't. God did not want us to be ignorant about it. Concerning the end He said, "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door." (Matt. 24":32-33) so He gave us a very specific picture of what is going to happen before the world ends. And it hasn't happened yet. So what is suppose to happen before the world ends? I am going to be pretty brief and as clear as I can about the seven years before the end. Before the end there will be, "wars and rumor of wars... nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains." (Matt. 24:6-8 Revelation describes these same events as the four horsemen.) At the start of the 7 year period Russia and Iran will attack Israel. And there will be a man that arises that comes to bring peace. After 3 and 1/2 years he will enter the new temple built by the Jews in Israel (which has every single element they need to build at this very second, they are just waiting for the go ahead) and will make a sacrifice on the altar. The person who does this is the anti-Christ. He will be loved by almost everyone and will do signs and wonders and will call himself god. The anti-Christ entering the temple is the Abomination of Desolation and that will mark the last 3 1/2 years before the End of the World as we know it. This period is going to be awful upon awful. This is when God's full wrath will be released on mankind. Sores, rivers and waters turning to blood, men scorches with fire, animals attacking people, Euphrates River dries up, the largest earthquake ever. People will want to die, but wont be able to. But then! The greatest of all chapters! Revelation 19. Jesus returns. (He wont have to announce and convince people He is God (like the anti-Christ) we will all know because He will come riding on a white horse as to battle from the sky. The people who trust Him with their life will be with Him. Big battle... Jesus destroying evil. Think justice. (Seriously trying to keep it brief, but this is going to be incredible!) And then a new earth will be made... heaven on earth. Awesome beyond awesome! (I wish I had time to talk more about it-it is the most exciting part.) And there is so much more to say about the scroll... if you have time, please read it. It is fasinating. A big long, but fasinating! So the question for us is... how does your life fit into all this? How do you fit into this whole story God is writing? Click the story book below. Check out my most recent post, What Does Tim Tebow Believe Anyway. Tim Tebow and the GospelI'm sure you've heard of the six degrees of seperation. Basically, all of us are connected to each other through a 6 connections. I know someone your friend knows type of thing. (Even though the Tipping Point says it is smaller than 6 degrees). When you think in terms of getting into a spiritual conversation, leading into sharing the gospel with someone this six degrees law comes in very handy. Just have 6 topics you are comfortable with where you can easily transition into the gospel. For me, my job, being a missionary to college students is a very easy one for me, another is fear since that is a big part of my testimony. But a unique one that the Lord has set up right now in this point in history is Tim Tebow. Sunday was another big game with a comeback win. I am really not into football but am finding these games exciting to watch. And I'm not the only one, the rating for the Broncos games are through the roof. In part because of the last minute come backs but mostly because Tim Tebow is using his platform to give Jesus praise. It's causing controversy all over the US and causing people to think about if God really cares about things like football. It is an in your face glimpse of God opposing the proud and giving grace to the humble. A glimpse of the Lord humbling the proud and lifting up the humble. Here's my point... Austin took me on a date after the game and was able to share the gospel with our waiter just by talking about football and then talking about Tim Tebow. Talking about Tim Tebow easily lead into a the question, "What do you think about Tim Tebow's religious stance?" and "Where do you stand spiritually?" Then Austin used Ray Comforts evangelism training and asked "Do you consider yourself a good person?" and went on. Check out this video to see how the rest of the conversation unfolds) So basically, if you can get the conversation to Tim Tebow, you can get to the gospel. And right now, he is #3 on google trends, so pretty much almost every person you have a conversation with is wanting to talk about Tim Tebow. So go for it!
Take the example of Tebow and walk by faith, not letting the fear of failure stop you and just initiate asking where people are at in their spiritual journey. And then you can just say something as simple as "Can I tell you my story?" or "Want to know how Tim Tebow got the way he is?" Then you can share how Tim was separated from God because he hadn't measured up to God's standard of perfection but he choose to recognize that and asked Jesus to forgive him and gave Him the control of his life. Then God started changing him from the inside out and made him the man of strong character and courage he is today. Go ahead try it! The measure of success is obedience, not perfection and not the results. Let me know via comment how it goes. And will you pass this on with twitter and facebook so we can capitalize on this incredible opportunity right now to join God in what He is doing? Come by the home page: Weekday Devotional on Friday for a FREE giveaway of my book.I've heard that my generation will be the first generation to "not have as much" as our parents. My heart cries, "Oh God let it be so!!" But let it be because we are a generation marked by sacrificial giving. That we are a generation so consumed by making Jesus known and using our resources to do so. That we would be a generation no longer idenified by how much we consume or how much or nice our material possessions are. That what we do have would be for God's glory. I hope we are the first generation that has less... way less than those before us because we cared more about the lost world, that we were willing to put our money where our heart is. And I pray that our hearts are about the business of our Father. That our hearts hurt for the things that cause Him to hurt and rejoice in the things that cause Him to rejoice. Oh that we would be a generation who had less because we gave. Reflecting the glory of the King who gave it all for us. Ann Voskamp wrote an inspiring post called When Christmans Gets Radical: Whose Birthday is it Really which told about Christmas in her family. Instead of buying each other presents, they take the money they would have spent and pick out ministries to give the money to, a present to Jesus. Yes! That we would be radical and that our passion for Jesus would effect everything about us... dare I say, even our finances. That we would be willing to live on less for the sake of more knowing Jesus. Taking Part in the Unfinished TaskThere are 6,921 unreached people groups equaling to 2.84 billion people in the world that still have not heard the name Jesus. Of the 6,921 Unreached people groups, about 3,537 (51%) are small groups under 10,000 in population (or population unknown) and all these groups total less than 8,000,000 individuals. Of the remaining 3,384 unreached groups, about 1,306 are under 50,000 in population. That leaves 2,078 Unreached groups 50,000 and over in population. A vibrant church in a large group may take the gospel to a number of smaller satellite people groups that have ethnic similarities.1 Week of PrayerHave you ever thought of organizing a week of prayer with your church, family, friends or blog?
